    People keep talking about RFE and LUD (soft LUD, hard LUD). Can someone explain what these are and what do they signify? I have my EAD, AP and my 140 is just approved. I have already passed 180 days after the filing of 485. If I change jobs can my employer still revoke my I-140 and harm my 485? These may be repeated questions but I am new to the forum .. and I m unable to get specific answers.

    If your I-140 is approved then the employer cannot revoke anything. You are completely free, under AC-21, to change employers. It is the situation with an unapproved I-140 that is ambiguous.

    I never got kWordpad to do this for me. Though after you mentioned it, I went back and took another look. I noticed that if upon opening the window, I clicked on the Bold button first and then went and began typing, the Bold button would return to an unChecked state and my text would not be bold. However if I first clicked once inside of the rich textbox and then clicked the bold button, when I started typing the text would be bold.

    So I went into the source and added: "this.MainRichTextBox.Focus();" directly benieth “InitializeComponent” to the Window1.xaml.cs file, so that the rich textbox would already have been ‘clicked’ upon opening and now it works just like wordpad as far as applying styles.

    Are you getting similar behavior or not? If its working differently for you, is there any chance you know whats happening here?

    Either way, thanks for making me take a second look. And just while I have you on the line, I want to tell you I love the website. The tutorials here are great. Most sites simply give snippits, but don’t give you all of how they achieved this or that feature. So its nice to know that when I start something here, all of the info I need to finish it or get it working is included. I'm looking forward to more in the WPF field.

    P.S. Just as a side note I was curious why you have:

    in the Window1.xaml.cs file when the Selected Index is already set in Expression Blend (0).

    Just for fun I changed it to: SelectedValue=”Calibri” in the C# file and left the Selected index in Expression Blend at 0. Now when I run kWordpad the combo box has Calibri set as the defualt but resets to Arial as soon as I begin typing in the rich textbox.

    What makes this really odd to me is that if it is being set by the selected index in Expression Blend, then the selected index would have to be set at 9 on my computer in order for it to choose Arial as the default (for me 0 is Abyssinica SIL). So where is it getting Arial from; and how is it that it is ignoring both the SelectedDefaultFont and the SelectedIndex? I realize this may seem tedius, but I just hate not knowing... "to be continued" at the end of a tv show makes me nuts too; I'm seeking help.

    Really? Did they give you that information?
    I have taken infopass 2 times in last 2 years, and they just tell me - we cannot tell anything about that info from the "screen" they have access to.
    They just give a vague answer that everything is in order but your visa numbers are not available for your dates, you need to wait for visa number

    I went twice, both the time they gave me that info. Not only that, they can tell you if your case was assigned to an IO or not and also when the IO reviwed you application lately. You will have to specifically ask them.

    Not entirely accurate. H visas have dual intent. You can tell them you will go on H1 and eventually get a GC and citizenship and the consulate cant do a thing. But if you are going for a tourist visa, then they will deny it. (But dont go and actually try saying something like that... you never know)

    Secondly, in the past filing LC was not proof of Immigration intent. It was I-140. I dont know what it is with PERM. But look at it this way, the first GC related document that reaches USCIS with your signature and name is the actual proof of intent. I wonder if that is still your I-140 application.

    Chennai does not have an availability till Oct and I am in INDIA in May. I was trying till today to get an apptmt in Chennai but not successful.

    I have an AP (through my wife company GC petition), worst case I will use it.

    Well now days US consulate have started 'returning worker quota' for every weekday appointment. I used that procedure in Dec 2005. My return date was 2nd Dec 2005 and i went to Visa appointment office on 23rd nov and they gave me appointment for 30th Nov .

    I also came to know that mumbai consulate takes some candidates (emergency case) without any confirmed appointment from 9:30 to 10:00 am.

    GReyhair thanks for your reply. My concern is not the FP. I am thinking even if they approved her GC and mailed on Jan 12, how can they do it before the the FP date which was Jan 15.

    I don't mean to hijack the thread and my PD is 2010 anyway but I have a question also.

    We know that we need to get all this vaccination thing done during 485 stage and a civil surgeon does that. But do we need to get all this done/verified at our regular physician before we go to the civil surgeon?

    All of us have these polio, measles thing done but we don't have a record to show. So does the doc give us new/follow up shots to fulfill the criteria...and we take that to the civil surgeon.

    looks like the civil surgeon is just a stamping authority, the real deal has to be done by our doc. Please let me know.

    If you paper filed your EAD and have done finger printing recently that could be the reason for 485 LUD. Its my opinion after every finger printing there will be an LUD in 485

    No. FP for EAD is catagory 2, FP for I485 is catagory 3. I have not seen any LUD on I485 for getting FP for EAD.

    As suggested by "mittal_a" it should be due to AC21 or some other routine stuff.

    How can a illegal obtain a paycheck without using a stolen SSN, so there is no way CIR can pass in its current state which allows for a guest worker program.     It does not make sense to me how folks who are on L1 visa and manage some people can go at par with the people of Extraordinary ability .

    I can understand if they holding a position where they make some policies/ generate bussiness that gonna have major impact on Employees or organizational direction ...

    But I have seen some people who not at par qualified has applied for GC on EB1 category just because they are on L1 Visa it is getting expired....

    But i feel that there is a big glitch in the definition of this category which many of the DESI Companies are abusing ....:(
    you do not need to be on L1A to apply for EB-1 managerial as long as you meet the requirements of being a manager as per USCIS definition. also eb-1 managerial is not a self-file - it needs to be filed by employer.

    Hello Friends,
    I applied for my permenant residency on Feb, 2002 under EB3 category. My PD is 02-DD-2002. As of today my LC and I-140 has been certified. I am from India.

    Recently i got a new job offer from another company and the new employer is willing to sponsor my green card under PERM - EB2 category. I understand that its very easy to get the LC and I-140 certification within months under PERM premium processing. In this case my new priority date will be the date i apply my new LC.

    If i get my PERM LC and I-140 under EB2 category with new employer, at the time of filing I-485 can i use my old priority date (Feb, 02) instead of PERM LC priority date?

    My question is

    With new PERM LC and I-140, can i apply for I-485 with my old priority date from the first LC? Please kindly provide your suggestion


    The current labor belongs you b/c I-140 has been approved. Secure your current approved LC and I-140 documents and then move on to the new employer's pay roll.

    Very true ! I am not sure what the moderators of Murhty forum are up to but yes the forum has been hijacked by a few very rude members. BTW, one of their very famous members have been banned from another very popular Attorney forum for rude (and illogical) posts and now happily continues name calling and rude language in Murthy forum.

    Good, so I'm not the only one who feels that Murthy is dominated by uncivilized conversations. IV came as such a breath of fresh air because everyone here is polite and agree to disagree in a civil manner.
    BTW is that famous member "J***f"....lol. He's been getting bashed at Murthy a bit too lately. He's like a schoolyard bully who just enjoys pouncing on people and giving unnecessary gyan.
